Birth Doula Services

Rooted in supportive guidance, a compassionate heart + a grounded presence

Birth + motherhood are transformative — let’s honor and deepen your experience together.

Moving through rites of passage, like pregnancy, birth and parenthood, are some of the most sacred journeys we experience in life. But, they often don’t feel as special as they we’d like thanks to endless to-dos, rushed appointments, and loads of shoulds and advice. Hiring a doula creates the space to honor the depth of your experience — including time to connect with yourself and your baby — while also allowing you to prepare for birth from a practical standpoint. Our time together will feel spacious, informative, calming, connected, educational and preparatory for what’s to come.

As your birth doula, I offer you (and your partner, when applicable) emotional and physical support anchored in both evidence and ancient wisdom. Together, we’ll aim towards what matters most to you in birth while also building tools to help you navigate the unknown of labor with resilience and trust. My goal is to be a grounded, caring, knowledgeable buoy of support in pregnancy and your labor process — to let you flow like the beautiful river you are while also holding the space through which you flow, so you feel guided and safe.

Birth Doula, Community + Support

You wouldn’t run a marathon without a fitness trainer, proper gear, carefully-selected fuel and ample rest on the backside. Let me equip you with a team to help you navigate the unfamiliar terrain of birth.

With this package, I connect you with some of my favorite providers — some you can’t book anywhere else — so you feel fully supported and prepared for birth and postpartum

  • Bodywork: one 90-min prenatal and one 90-min postpartum massage with my preferred perinatal bodyworker.

  • Pelvic Floor PT: two prenatal and two postpartum visits from my preferred pelvic floor physical therapist.

“Ali pairs knowledge and practicality with a little bit of magic. Her support during birth was imperative — especially with positioning and managing contractions. We would have had a much different experience without her support. A major game changing aspect of having her with us was helping my partner support me. She made me (and my partner) feel more safe and confident in our journey. Ali is incredible. Anyone would be lucky to have her as their doula.” — Brittany A. (Mar Vista, CA; birthed at St. John’s Hospital)

What will we cover in our prenatal sessions?

Our prenatal sessions are designed to do two things: tend to what is feeling present for you right when we meet and prepare you (and your partner) holistically for the process of labor, birth and postpartum — physically, emotionally, energetically and informationally.

Through a combination of meditation, topic exploration, birth education, bodywork, role play and coping practice you’ll move into birth feeling familiar with and ready for what’s to come — including the twists and turns.
