Birth Doula Support

  • Let’s tune into what matters to you.

We’ll treat our time together as a sacred space, unearthing your inner knowing together so you can welcome the journey of birth and parenting — and whatever it brings — with confidence.

Planning a birth in the hospital, at a birthing center, at home or somewhere else? It all belongs here.

    • two prenatal meetings

    • on-call between 38-42 weeks

    • in-person support for the duration of birth

    • one postpartum visit

    Exchange: $2,000

*Accepting clients birthing in Nov 2025 and beyond

  • In the months leading up to birth, we’ll:

    • tap into coping mechanisms that work for you

    • develop partner support that attunes to your energy and feedback

    • set birthing intentions that align with your values

    • build resilience + tools so you can welcome the unknown

    • do hands-on bodywork to prepare your body

    • prepare for postpartum wellness

  • We will wind through the labyrinth of birth with a sense of mystery and unknown — but we will do it together.

You’ll decide when extra support is needed and I will be there to offer a calming, grounded presence and tune into your needs.

If an additional support person is there — like a partner and/or a parent — I can assist them in energetically attuning to you so they can physically support you.

We’ll work collaboratively with the rest of your birthing team to navigate any decisions that need to be made in an intentional way that maintains your agency in the experience.

And utilize physical positioning as one way to manage pain and to encourage the baby through the birth canal.

Together, we’ll pay attention to what labor is demanding and support it and you with deep listening and compassion.

  • Nourishing emotional and physical support to hold you during this tender time post-birth.

    • A slow-paced hour or two to give you mama love

    • A foot bath and foot massage

    • Time, space and presence to feel into your birth story, if you want

    • A yummy, postpartum-specific snack for you + the fam

    • An hour to get you rest while I wear your baby

    • Help where it’s needed: laundry, picking up, setting up feeding stations with snacks and hydration

Circles for Mamas in All Stages

  • A Circle is a way to build the village and nurture inner growth while in community — both of which are vital on the parenting journey.

Engaging in this work is an incredible way to hear what your heart has to say, build a deeper connection with yourself (and your external relationships), and feel nourished, grounded and at peace. It can be profoundly liberating.

    In Circle we:

    • Join together with 8-10 other women weekly

    • Do a short grounding meditation to arrive and create a sacred space

    • Build safety, confidentiality and a space of non-judgment into the group through guidelines

    • Introduce a prompt that invites sharing from a deep place

    • Listen to each other and share what feels authentic to each of us

    • Give and receive empathy and validation for wherever you are on your journey

    • And more

  • Our reflection circles are rooted in authentic sharing, non-judgment and empathy.

Circles that embrace all stages of motherhood (from conception to moms of school-age kids) mean you’ll find other mamas moving through similar + different experiences to you. It all belongs and is supportive.

No one has to do this alone.

    • 5- to 6-week cycles

    • multi-stage support: whether you are pregnant, in early postpartum or further into motherhood, we’re all here to witness each other in the human joys and struggles of raising little ones

    • come as you are — your bare face/tears/smiles/whole selves are welcome here

  • Our Circles will begin as soon as we have enough mamas (8-10) to create the experience.

Circles are either virtual or in-person on the west side of Los Angeles starting in 2025.

Tell us more about you, what stage of motherhood you are in + your availability and we will let you know as soon as your Circle is ready.

  • Join the virtual July Mamas Summer Circle — a celebration of the freedom of self in this season of warmth, blooming + outward expression.

    • 5 weeks of Circle beginning Thursday, July 3rd

    • Circles will be held at 9 am PT and run for 90 minutes.

    • Live sessions on Zoom July 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st.

    • 8-10 women in a community devoted to supporting each other's inner journeys with non-judgment and heart

    • Come away each week with a feeling of nourishment, peace and groundedness

    • Exchange: $250 for 5 weeks

      *Scholarships available

    • To join, fill out the contact form below and I’ll be in touch with more details

Retreats for Mamas

  • As we emerge from the earliest days of motherhood, slivers of ourselves return to us or are born anew and whisper to us to be nourished.

Wild Grace retreats are designed to give you that space and nourishment to feel deeply into yourself and what you need — without kids around — and take that with you as you return to your day-to-day.

Best for mamas of school-age children.

    • Meditation

    • Circles with mamas

    • Spend time in nature

    • Move our bodies along creeks and under trees

    • Light yoga

    • Eat good and healthy food

    • Soak in mineral-rich water

    • and cultivate the energy of women in community

All of these activities put us in tune with our inner gardens and, by embracing quiet and spaciousness, we create awareness of what needs tending to come fully into bloom.

We can then bring some of these practices home so we can continue to grow that awareness and live more meaningful, happier, heart-centered lives.

  • Our next retreat is 4 days and is in Santa Fe, NM, in early September 2025. It’s currently sold out.

About Me

My name is Ali Carr and I am a mama of 3 girls. I live on the westside of LA with my husband, our daughters and our dachshund, Mokey.

I believe we, as humans, all have innate senses when it comes to birth but, in today’s society, our instincts have become dormant. We have also likely never been taught how to tap into our own intuition. When developed, both instincts and intuition can help us move through the journey of birth and parenthood from a place of alignment and intention, helping us feel confident and clear. And the transformative journey can truly feel meaningful. This is true whether you birth at home in a hospital birth and have a vaginal birth or a cesarean birth. All are welcome here.

Whether I work with you as a doula or you join our Mama Circles, your instincts and inner knowing will be nurtured and expanded. You are the expert in your own life. I’m here to walk alongside you in conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum and parenting to help you build tenderness, resilience to welcome the unknown and a full heart.

  • My call to support mamas started in 2018 when my two oldest daughters were 4 and 1 years old. The importance of “the village” came fiercely into view — I needed it and I also wanted to be a part of that supportive webbing.

I shifted my editorial career in outdoor adventure towards the maternal world, leading content on a project supporting birthing people from pre-conception through postpartum in mindset, movement and nutrition at Nike. It was a dream gathering wisdom from holistic perinatal experts across the globe including meditation and movement teachers, pelvic floor therapists, neurologists, doulas, spiritual guides, mental health counselors and more. From there, I was asked to design the experience at Sanhu House, a postpartum retreat center in Santa Monica, CA.

A few years later, I was diagnosed with and went through treatment for aggressive stage 1 breast cancer. This experience — and a steady guided meditation practice — made it clear that working with mamas at all stages on an intimate level was deeply important to me. It also gave me a reverence for the things that thread us back to our most primal selves, like birth, breath, movement and nature.
